• Why Kosher

Why Kosher?
A term used to describe food that has been prepared according to Jewish dietary laws, meaning the food is ritually correct or pure. Food, in accord with Jewish law ,is termed kosher in English, from the Hebrew term kashér, meaning "fit." Observant Jews may not consume non-kosher food. Originally, these laws were practical and hygienic given ancient living conditions, now they are largely philosophical and ritualistic. The Islamic equivalent for Muslims is halal, which overlaps with kosher, but is not identical.
