Woodstock Farms - Reverence for the Land
wf_fb_stewardship_02
Our farmers have a relationship with the soil, plants and food that begins with reverence for the earth and for the livelihood of farming. There is great humility in a farmer’s relationship to the earth, to the farm and to each abundant harvest.

A steward is someone who cares for something they don’t own. And none of us own this planet. We are here on a "temporary visa," and while here, it is our duty and obligation to care for the land now and for the future. Our children and their children will inherit this planet, and we are ethically charged with the duty to ensure that they do not inherit a toxic dump.

Here at Woodstock Farms, we work every day with folks who care for the land in an active and tangible way. It is with respect that we acknowledge the work they do, and we are encouraged by their efforts to do likewise, in our own personal way.

Most of us don’t work on the land as do our farmers and farm workers, but we support them in their endeavors. In a personal daily contribution to this effort, we can do so by purchasing organically-grown produce and textiles and use organically-produced personal products.

Stewardship of this planet, from America to Africa to Australia is a noble endeavor. Working together, globally, on all levels, we can achieve great things in ensuring the health and lasting endurance of our lands. Practicing organic agriculture is one part of the picture but one that is key to the big picture of a healthy planet. We here at Woodstock Farms are proud to be a part of this passion.
